Drie maanden op weg / Three months underway

Ruim drie maanden na de start van Taxol is de marker gedaald van bijna duizend (980 om precies te zijn) naar 131. De oncoloog belde me op mijn werk. Werk? Ja, want nu ik minder dexa gebruik en geen Kytril meer, ga ik op donderdag ook weer een paar uur werken.

De leverwaarden had ik vanmorgen al van de secretaresse gehoord. Alkalische fosfatase is gedaald van 110 naar 104. De normaalwaarde gaat tot 98, dus daar kom ik nu heel dicht in de buurt.

Gamma-GT was gedaald van 110 naar 86. De normaalwaarde is maximaal 40 en ik kom van 500-nogwat.

De oncoloog was hoorbaar blij met deze bloedwaarden. En ik ook!

Just over three months after starting Taxol my marker decreased from almost a thousand (980 to be exact) to 131. The oncologist called me at work. Work? Yes. Now that I use less dexa and no Kytril, I re-started working a few hours on Thursdays.

The secretary had given me my liver values earlier this morning. Alkaline phosphatase has decreased from 110 to 104. The normal value is 98 to the maximum, so I get close.

GGT had decreased from 110 to 86. The normal value is maximally 40 and my value has been 500-something.

I could hear in the oncologist’s voice how happy she was with these values. And so am I!
